Man Stabbed in Peru After Breaking up an Alleged Fight

A man was stabbed in Peru while breaking up a fight early Sunday morning, according to a press release from the Peru Police Department. The Peru Police Department was dispatched to the 300 block of 5th Street around 1:36 AM on February 25, 2024, for a report of a male subject with multiple stab wounds in a vehicle. According to Peru Police, the 31-year-old male subject reportedly broke up an alleged fight in the parking lot of Pour Judgement, located at 1803 4th Street, when an unknown person or persons stabbed him. The victim left the area, but police were called soon after. The victim was taken by Life Flight to Peoria, where he is in stable condition. There are no known suspects at this time, but the incident is isolated, and there is no threat to the public. The Peru Police Department was assisted by Peru Ambulance Service, the Peru Fire Department, and officers from the Spring Valley and Oglesby Police Departments. The incident remains under investigation.
