MACOMB, IL – The McDonough District Hospital Board of Directors has announced that following a special meeting that was Thursday morning, they have decided to extend the tenure of interim CEO Bill Murdock to February 20, 2024 as they continue to investigate allegations against suspended President/CEO Brian E. Dietz.

Dietz was suspended on December 28th after a meeting was called to address multiple anonymous claims against Dietz that cited an untenable and toxic work environment, reckless hospital spending, and a sudden increase in premiums for hospital employees had contributed to critically low employee morale at the hospital and the departure of many long-time employees.

Board Chair Jere Greuel and Board Member Dan O’Neill, with assistance provided by the hospital’s legal counsel. have been investigating the claims against Dietz but the investigation appears to be taking longer than anticipated; resulting in the extended suspension.
