Hammond-Henry Hospital’s Geneseo Clinic is welcoming Dr. Chad Martens to its family practice team beginning Monday, December 1st. Dr. Martens, an Erie native with a background in chronic disease management, urgent care, and preventative medicine, is now accepting new patients by waitlist. Community members can meet Dr. Martens at an open house on Thursday, December 4th, from 2 to 4 PM in the hospital’s dining room at 600 N. College Avenue. All are invited to attend, enjoy light refreshments, and claim a small gift. To join Dr. Martens’ patient list, call 309-944-1275.
“I have always liked the culture and work ethic of Hammond-Henry Hospital, and I am dedicated to bettering the health of this community,” said Dr. Martens, who was encouraged by his mother, a nurse, to go into the health field. “I care about the people who come to me, and I feel it’s a privilege to take care of them. There is nothing better as a physician than helping someone attain a positive outcome when they didn’t think that was possible. I’m excited about getting started.”
“To best accommodate our increasing number of patients, especially in the Geneseo Clinic, we’ve been diligently looking for a physician that would best complement our already fantastic team,” said Wyatt Brieser, Hammond-Henry Hospital CEO. “We feel we have found that in Dr. Martens. Growing up in a small town (Erie), Dr. Martens expressed his desire to serve a community such as ours, and I believe he will be a very welcome addition to our staff.”
Dr. Martens, a specialist in family practice and chronic disease management, is now accepting pediatric and adult patients at the Geneseo Clinic. His expertise covers preventative medicine, urgent care, skin procedures, and joint injections. Dr. Martens received his medical degree in Rockford and completed residency training focused on rural health. The Geneseo Clinic welcomes patients for scheduled appointments from 8 AM to 5 PM, and walk-in care is available starting at 7 AM each weekday.
