Memorial Hospital has welcomed Alex Ourth, a certified physician assistant and native of Hancock County, to its primary care team at Memorial Medical Clinic Bowen. Ourth offers experience in preventative care, chronic disease management, and rural health—essential services for the community. Patients in the Bowen area now have increased access to healthcare, with Ourth accepting new appointments at the clinic. Hospital officials say his return to serve the area aligns with their focus on expanding local healthcare options. Ourth is accepting new patients at Memorial Medical Clinic Bowen, located at 209 East 5th Street in Bowen. To schedule an appointment, please call 217-842-5211.

“As a family medicine provider, my goal is to help patients achieve their greatest quality of life through each of life’s stages,” said Ourth. “I believe in the power of preventative care and creating treatment plans that reflect each individual’s values and lifestyle.”

Ourth, who grew up on a farm near Fountain Green, brings his rural roots and a strong commitment to family-focused care to Hancock County. His educational background includes degrees from the University of Illinois at Chicago, Western Illinois University, and a Physician Assistant Master’s Degree from the University of Dubuque. Ourth’s hands-on experience as a patient care technician, along with public health work during the COVID-19 pandemic, uniquely equips him for his new role serving patients of all ages in the Bowen community.
