Memorial Hospital Foundation Celebrates Milestones and Launches Campaigns to Support Local Healthcare

SHARE NOW

The Memorial Hospital Foundation is marking two significant milestones: 75 years of Memorial Hospital and its own 10th anniversary. Fundraising efforts this year have channeled support toward the Together We Grow Endowment Campaign as well as the Grow Our Own Scholarship Campaign, both aimed at enhancing patient care and nurturing future healthcare professionals. Looking ahead, a special Celebration of Lights event is scheduled for December 2025, featuring 75 festively decorated trees to honor the hospital’s legacy. The foundation invites the community to join in the festivities and support initiatives shaping local healthcare for generations to come.

For more information on how you can donate to the Memorial Hospital Foundation, contact Greta Wilson Wetzel, Executive Director, at (217) 357-8502 or [email protected], or Katelyn Foreman, Communications Coordinator, at (217) 357-5923 or [email protected].

Memorial Hospital Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization and a subsidiary of Memorial Hospital, supporting Memorial Hospital, Hancock County Senior & Childcare Services, and the communities they serve.

Hancock County is gearing up for a dazzling display as the Celebration of Lights returns in December 2025. In honor of Memorial Hospital’s 75th anniversary, the courthouse square will shine with 75 decorated trees, brilliant lighted arches, and sparkling stars. Each display offers local organizations and families a chance to sponsor and join the festivities. The highlight of the season will be the Lighted Parade, scheduled for Thursday, December 4th, at 6:30 PM around the courthouse square. The Foundation encourages the entire community to come together for this expanded holiday tradition celebrating unity and the spirit of the season.
