Memorial Hospital in Carthage, Illinois, has been recognized with the prestigious Award of Merit from the Illinois Society for Healthcare Marketing and Public Relations. This honor spotlights the hospital’s innovative marketing campaign for the Memorial Medical Clinic Mobile. The project stands out for its deep roots in community engagement and its vibrant design, crafted in collaboration with local artists. Organizers emphasize that input from area residents was key in shaping outreach that truly resonates. The mobile clinic aims to expand access to healthcare, bringing essential services closer to neighborhoods and reinforcing the hospital’s commitment to serving the entire region.
“We are thrilled to be recognized for this award,” said Cynthia Stewart, Director of Marketing, Communications, & PR at Memorial Hospital. “Our team works tirelessly to ensure that Memorial Hospital’s message of hope and healing is delivered to our community and beyond.”
“The design is meant to be a reflection of our community,” said Justina Lichner, Multimedia Specialist at
Memorial Hospital. “In the design you’ll see the people we see every day doing the types of activities our
area is known for, like fishing along the Mississippi, biking, walking, and spending quality time with
friends and family while enjoying the beautiful nature that surrounds us here.”
Community efforts in the region are being celebrated as Memorial Medical Clinic Mobile receives a prestigious award for its remarkable outreach and impact. The mobile clinic, which started service in the fall of 2024, was made possible through a $56,000 fundraising campaign called Strengthening Minds, Building Futures, organized by the Memorial Hospital Foundation. Renovation and equipment costs were fully covered, ensuring quality care on wheels. The mobile unit’s distinctive exterior is the result of a collaboration between the hospital’s Marketing and Behavioral Health departments and Idaho artist Holly Papa, reflecting a commitment to accessible healthcare and mental wellness across the area.
