In a recent development from Mercer County, a high school teacher faces serious charges following a complaint about inappropriate communications. Brandon Livingston, 26, an Ag teacher at Mercer County High School, has been charged with distribution of harmful material and official misconduct after allegedly sending inappropriate text messages to a minor. The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office initiated an investigation on October 28, 2024, leading to Livingston’s arrest. He is currently on administrative leave as the legal process unfolds. The community and school officials are closely monitoring the situation, ensuring student safety remains a priority.
Livingston was issued a notice to appear on Friday, November 1st. A Preliminary Hearing is scheduled for November 19, 2024.

On October 28, 2024, Mercer County Schools received allegations of inappropriate conduct by a Mercer County High School employee. The District notified the authorities and placed the employee on administrative leave. Law enforcement notified the District on October 30, 2024, that the employee was arrested in connection with the allegations. The District is, and will continue to, fully cooperate with all investigating agencies. The safety of our students is the District’s top priority and the District will continue working to protect our kids from any and all inappropriate behavior.
