The Illinois Department on Aging has named Michelle Hoersch as its new Chief Planning Officer. With more than three decades of expertise in public health, Hoersch will spearhead the development of the state’s Multi-Sector Plan for Aging. This initiative aims to address the needs of Illinois’ older adults through collaboration across multiple sectors. Residents will have a chance to share their input in public engagement sessions scheduled for later this summer. Officials anticipate releasing a final draft of the aging plan by year’s end, focusing on improving services and resources for seniors statewide.
“Michelle Hoersch is a wonderful fit to lead our efforts to transform the circumstances in which Illinois residents live and age,” said IDoA Director Mary Killough. “While welcoming Michelle, I extend my deepest gratitude to Serena Worthington and RRF Foundation for Aging for partnering with IDoA and allocating significant staff time and resources to support the initial planning stages of the MPA.”
