The man missing from Geneseo was found deceased in a single-vehicle car accident by the Rock Island County Sheriff’s Office (RICO) on Monday morning. The Rock Island Sheriff’s Department responded to a motor vehicle crash on September 2, 2024, around 10:30 AM, in the 30900 block of 38th Avenue North in Hillsdale. A preliminary report by RICO said the vehicle appeared to be traveling westbound, when the vehicle crossed into the oncoming eastbound lane, went into the ditch, and came to rest after striking a tree. Anthony Carr, 18, the sole occupant in the vehicle, was declared deceased at the scene. Anthony Carr was reported missing from Geneseo and last seen on August 28th.
The Henry County Sheriff’s Office, Hillsdale Fire Department, Genesis EMS, and MedForce assisted the Rock Island Sheriff’s Office. The investigation is ongoing and no additional information will be released at this time.
