Several railroad crossings across the county are closed for repairs and maintenance starting today, with work scheduled to finish by Thursday, September 11th. Impacted locations include 2550 East Street at the east edge of Malden; 1800 North Avenue and 2300 East Street; and 1725 East Street, about half a mile north of 1600 North Avenue. Additional closures are located at Locust Street in Wyanet, 1200 East Street just north of 1400 North Avenue, and 1300 North Avenue just east of Buda. Officials indicate more closures will follow, affecting crossings from Zearing to Kewanee. Travelers are advised to seek alternative routes.
