The Kewanee Fire Department responded to a smoke call from Washington Apartments this afternoon. The building was evacuated and after a search, no fire was found. The cause of the smoke is possibly from an appliance, such as a dryer. Residents are allowed back in the building but fire crews remain on scene as of 3:53 PM.
