Illinois Valley Community College has opened nominations for the 2026 IVCC-LPO Hall of Fame. The Hall celebrates outstanding accomplishments in academics, fine arts, athletics, and community service. Anyone can put forward deserving individuals who have made a meaningful impact in these areas. The nomination period runs through February 15th, giving applicants several months to highlight the achievements of alumni, faculty, or local supporters. Details about eligibility and submission forms can be found by visiting the college’s official website. It’s an opportunity for the community to acknowledge those who have contributed to the IVCC tradition of excellence.

The Hall of Fame, which currently recognizes 76 individuals and five teams, will announce new inductees in March, with the ceremony set for June 6, 2026. Helen Taylor, whose $100,000 bequest in 1976 established the Foundation, and Dr. Alfred E. Wisgoski, IVCC’s longest-serving president, are among the notable past honorees. Dr. Wisgoski’s recent $1 million trust donation will have a lasting impact, as the new Agricultural Education Center will proudly bear his name.

Nominations are being accepted online at www.ivcc.edu/halloffame. For information, contact Alumni & Donor Relations Coordinator Susan Monroe at [email protected] or 815-224-0549. A list of IVCC-LPO Hall of Fame inductees is available at www.ivcc.edu/hofinductees.

The College’s Hall of Fame, founded in 2008, continues its mission of celebrating outstanding achievement. Recognition is given to alumni and former employees for their excellence in academics, fine arts, athletics, or notable career accomplishments, both during their time at the institution and beyond. The Hall of Fame isn’t limited to just graduates; it also acknowledges individuals who, though not alumni, have impacted the college community through exceptional service or generosity. Nominations reflect a commitment to recognizing those whose contributions have had a lasting effect on students’ lives and the institution’s legacy of excellence. Induction ceremonies foster pride and inspiration campus-wide.
