Princeton’s Electric Utility is celebrating impressive recognition after earning a Gold Rating and Diamond Award for safety from the Illinois Municipal Utilities Association and the American Public Power Association. This honor reflects the department’s strong safety record and commitment to industry best practices. In addition, the utility received national attention for reliability, placing it in the top 25% among public utilities nationwide. City officials say these achievements underscore dedicated teamwork and investment in infrastructure, delivering dependable service to Princeton residents. The awards highlight ongoing efforts to uphold safety and reliability standards, ensuring the community has a trusted power source. Jeff Mangrich, Princeton’s Superintendent of Electric and Telecommunications, accepted the award from the IMUA Safety Award and Reliability Certificate from IMUA President & CEO Kevin Gaden.
