Woman shot in Leland was transported by LifeFlight to a Hospital in Rockford and a male subject was taken into custody for the shooting. On October 24, 2023, around 1:20 PM, LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatched to the 300 block of Grant Street in Leland for a shots fired call. Deputies found a female with on gunshot wound and she was transported to Northwestern Medicine Valley West Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A male subject was taken into custody at the scene, which was determined to be a domestic situation. Charges are pending on the male suspect and his name has not been released at this time. LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office said there is no threat to the public and the investigation is ongoing. This investigation is ongoing by the LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office, Illinois State Police Crime Scene, and the LaSalle County State’s Attorney’s Office.
