    IMPACTS
    The dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in 30 minutes or less. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.

Illinois Valley Community College Announces Commencement Plans

This May, Illinois Valley Community College is bustling with celebratory events as it marks several significant academic milestones. On May 18, the 58th annual commencement will see 225 graduates, with author and comedian Kim “Howard” Johnson delivering the keynote. The same day, the Registered Nursing program will honor its graduates in a pinning ceremony at the Cultural Centre.

Further recognizing educational achievements, the college will host the Alpha Delta Nu Nursing Honor Society induction on May 7 and the 43rd Annual Adult Education Recognition on May 22, showcasing nearly a hundred students, ranging from GED completers to career program graduates.

All events ensure to celebrate the hard work and success of students, reinforcing IVCC’s commitment to educational excellence.
