    Snow is expected north of Interstate 80 with mixed precipitation possible along Interstate 80. Total snow accumulations between 3 and 5 inches is possible north of Interstate 80. 1 to 3 inches of snow is possible along the Interstate 80 corridor along with a glaze of ice.

Large Animal Rescue Class for First Responders on November 11th

The Bureau County and Marshall-Putnam County Farm Bureaus, with the Emergency Management Agency (EMA), are hosting a Large Animal Rescue Class for First Responders on November 11, 2023, from 8 AM to 12 PM.  The session is instructed by Dr. Deke Carls from the Oakwood Vet Clinic.  The event will be held at the Putnam County EMA building in Hennepin, Illinois, with refreshments and a box lunch provided.  The class was designed by the Illinois Fire Service Institute to provide instruction and awareness to the area of large animal rescue to Illinois First Responders.  Emergency Responders include Fire, Police, EMS, Sheriff Departments, DNR and Forest Preserve to name a few.  The large animals discussed will include horses, cows, pigs, sheep, llamas and alpacas.

The registration deadline for participants is November 3, 2023, and can be done by calling Bureau County Farm Bureau at 815-875-6468 or Marshall-Putnam Farm Bureau at 309-364-2501.
