The body of an as yet unnamed woman was found in Little Indian Creek in Leland, IL on Friday, April 14th. According to the information provided by the office of LaSalle County Sheriff Adam Diss, the Leland Fire and Rescue were called to the scene at East 1950th Road in Leland on Friday. Those first responders contacted the LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office and the LaSalle County Coroner. The body was recovered and a forensic autopsy was set to be conducted on Saturday, April 15th. According to Sheriff Diss this is believed to be an isolated incident. The name of the decedent is being withheld while notification of next of kin is being completed. The LaSalle County Coroner and investigators from the LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office are leading the investigation.
