Marseilles Man Arrested for Sexual Assault of a Child


A Marseilles man is in the LaSalle County jail tonight stemming from an investigation into the sexual assault of a child.  On November 9, 2023, the LaSalle County Sheriff’s office arrested Andrew D. Haines, 39, of rural Marseilles on a warrant for his arrest for the Criminal Sexual Assault of a child under the age of 13.  Haines is charged with Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child <13 (Class X Felony) and Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse (Class 2 Felony).  Haines is in custody at the LaSalle County Jail awaiting a Detention Hearing.  The sexual assault of a child is a detainable offense under the new SAFE-T Act rules.   A Class X Felony and carries a potential sentence of 6-30 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
