    WHAT
    Peak afternoon heat indices around 105 degrees expected.
    WHERE
    Portions of north central, northwest, and west central Illinois, east central, northeast, and southeast Iowa, and northeast Missouri.
    WHEN
    From noon Saturday to 8 PM CDT Monday.
    IMPACTS
    Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.
    ADDITIONAL DETAILS
    Heat impacts will be worsened by several consecutive days of sweltering temperatures. Additionally, there will be little relief overnight with near record warm lows forecast in the mid to upper 70s.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

OSF King Care-A-Van Will be at the Bureau County Fair Friday, August 25th

The OSF King Care-A-Van will be at the Bureau County Fair on Friday, August 25, 2023, from 2 to 7 PM with an advanced Practice Provider to provide limited acute complaints, wellness checks, blood pressure screening, education and reassurance on chronic diseases, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, COPD, plus more.  The King Care-A-Van is named in recognition of Donors, Don and Val King of Manlius, and funded in coordination with the OSF HealthCare Foundation.  Don and Val King were advocates for wellness in rural communities and the King family ensured their donation would enable rural residents access to screenings, immunizations, health education and more.
