    Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.
    ADDITIONAL DETAILS
    Heat impacts will be worsened by several consecutive days of sweltering temperatures, with little relief overnight as lows will only be in the mid to upper 70s.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

Road Repairs on Highway 6 in the City of Peru on September 27th and 28th

Highway 6 between Fulton and Peoria Streets in Peru will be closed to automobile traffic on September 27th and 28th, 2023, for road repairs.  Passenger vehicles will be detoured around the area but commercial and emergency vehicles will be allow through.  Traffic control measures will be in place during the closures.   Motorists are advised to use an alternate route and avoid the area as there may be traffic delays.
