This February, the Stark County Health Department and the Toulon First Choice Healthcare Clinic are urging residents to prioritize heart health by knowing their blood pressure numbers. In honor of American Heart Month, the clinic has installed a free, automated blood pressure monitor in its lobby, thanks to a grant from the American Heart Association. High blood pressure often goes undetected, earning its nickname as the “silent killer.” Amanda Rediger, a Family Nurse Practitioner at the clinic, emphasizes the importance of regular checks. Visitors will receive a printout of their results to track their health. Additionally, the clinic now offers a blood pressure monitor loaner program, allowing residents to monitor their levels at home. Stop by the Toulon Clinic Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM, or call 309-852-3115 for more details. Taking a few minutes to check your blood pressure could make a life-saving difference.
