    Very cold wind chills as low as 20 to 30 below.

    Portions of north central and northwest Illinois and east central and southeast Iowa.

    Until noon CST today.
    IMPACTS
    The dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in 30 minutes or less. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.

Region 3 Human Services Transportation Plan Meeting on May 17, 2024, at 10 AM

The next Human Services Transportation Plan (HSTP) Regional Transportation Committee Meeting for Region 3 (Bureau, DeKalb, Grundy, Kendall, LaSalle, Lee, Ogle, and Putnam Counties) will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at BPART – 535 Elm Pl., Princeton, IL 61356. Human service organizations with an interest in public transportation are strongly encouraged to attend, as is anyone interested in public transit. We will have reserved time slots available for public comment via Zoom for anyone not able to attend the meeting in person between 10:15 am and 10:30 am. HSTP identifies transportation needs and develops solutions to improve transportation services for the general public. An emphasis is placed on seniors, people with disabilities, individuals with lower incomes, and veterans.
