    Very cold wind chills as low as 20 to 30 below.

    Portions of north central and northwest Illinois and east central and southeast Iowa.

    IMPACTS
    The dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in 30 minutes or less. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.

Road Weight Restrictions Begin on January 31, 2024, in Henry County

The Illinois Department of Transportation announced weight restrictions will begin on January 31, 2024, for Midland Road, Osco Road, and Grange Road in Henry County.  The 10-ton weight restrictions will be lifted on or before May 1, 2024.
