The Black Hawk College Equestrian Show Team is set to host the Robin Moreland Memorial Ranch Series. This exciting event will unfold over two Saturdays, October 26th and November 16th, 2024, at the East Campus’s Ag Arena. Starting at 9 AM, the competition will feature a range of events from ranch rail to ranch reining, appealing to various age groups from youths to adults aged 50 and over. A unique highlight is the Team Ranch Riding, where duos share a horse to complete a pattern. Public attendance is encouraged, and a portion of the proceeds will support the Robin Moreland Endowed Equine Scholarship. For more details, contact Rebekah Irish at 309-854-1838 or [email protected].
Competitive events include ranch rail, ranch riding, ranchmanship, working western rail, ranch reining, ranch conformation, heel-o-matic heading, and Team Ranch Riding. For Team Ranch Riding, riders partner with a friend and compete on the same horse, with one riding the first half of the pattern and the second rider the second half. The highest-scoring team wins the class.
