MACOMB, IL – During a time of year when many children are thinking about what gifts they would like to get for themselves, the students of Saint Paul School in Macomb were in the giving spirit and helped other local children in need.
The students, along with assistance from faculty members, staff and parents, purchased 25 new winter coats and sponsored 25 children enrolled in the Western Illinois Regional Council’s (WIRC) Project Santa program. As Project Santa sponsors, they purchased approximately $100 of gifts and clothing for each child.
WIRC’s Project Santa Coordinator and Public Relations Manager, Jamie Roth, says the agency is very grateful for their continued support. “Saint Paul students have supported our Project Santa program for many years, and it is so heartwarming to see how proud and joyful the students are when we pick up the donation,” said Roth. “We want to thank the Saint Paul faculty and staff, the students, and their parents for their kindness.”
Enrollment for this year’s Project Santa program has passed. To learn more about it, visit https://wirpc.org/projectsanta/, email [email protected], or call WIRC at 309-837-2997.
