In a significant shake-up in Fulton’s city administration, three key officials have announced their resignations effective in the new year. Mayor Wendy Ottens, alongside Police Chief Nicholas Neblung and Business Manager Tammy L. Garibay, will vacate their positions, citing various challenges and frustrations with their roles.

Ottens mentioned a lack of acknowledgment of team achievements and the personal toll of constant scrutiny as her reasons for stepping down. Similarly, Neblung highlighted the overwhelming demands and stresses of his job, coupled with inadequate support and compensation. The city council has begun discussions to address these impending vacancies and search for replacements. Mayor Pro-Tem Mindy Burggraaf will temporarily fill the mayoral role until the upcoming municipal elections in April.
