    IMPACTS
    The dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in 30 minutes or less. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.

A Centennial Celebration of Louie Bellson!

Rock Falls Tourism is incredibly excited and honored to present the BELLSON MUSIC FEST ~ A Centennial Celebration of Louie Bellson on Saturday, June 8th, at the RB&W District Amphitheater in Rock Falls, Illinois.

The all-day event celebrates the life and legacy of Rock Falls native son Louie Bellson (1924-2009), the world renowned big-band drummer, bandleader and composer.

Hosted by Rock Falls Tourism, the event is being organized in close association with Bellson’s widow Francine Bellson and music director Josh Duffee of Davenport, Iowa.

Festivities kick off with a Drum Clinic by Steve Smith, legendary drummer from the band Journey, at 11 am, at the McCormick Event Center. Then, five bands are scheduled to perform from 12 noon to 9:30 pm at the RB&W District Amphitheater – Jerry Criss Band, Yorkville Big Band, Rock River Jazz Band, Josh Duffee & His Orchestra, and Steve Smith and Vital Information with Steve Smith, Manuel Valera and Janek Gwizdala.
