Chesney Responds to Installation of Fencing Around Federal Courthouse

Security fencing was installed late Friday around the Federal Courthouse in Rockford. In response to the placement of the fence, State Senator Andrew Chesney (R-Freeport) issued the following statement:

“I am very concerned that Mayor Tom McNamara has chosen to follow in the footsteps of Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, opposing additional resources to fight crime and protect Rockford families. Bringing in the National Guard is the right thing to do. The only people who oppose the Guard’s presence in Chicago and in Rockford are those who want to continue giving criminals and illegal immigrants a free pass.”
