Data Center Rumors Put to Rest

Residents in the Rock Falls area are still watching developments after a controversial real-estate listing was pulled from public view. The 387-acre property, located along Interstate 88 and U.S. 30 near Nelson, had been promoted by the Lee County Industrial Development Association. Public concern grew quickly after rumors spread that the site could become a data center.

The reaction was strong enough to draw an official response from Lee County leaders, who have now publicly confirmed that no data center is planned for the property. For now, the site’s future remains unclear, but officials say that specific rumor is off the table.
