Sheriff John F. Booker announced today that deputies from the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office will be working overtime during the upcoming Whiteside County Fair, scheduled for August 12-16, 2025, to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees.
“Our top priority is public safety,” said Sheriff Booker. “We are assigning additional deputies to patrol the fairgrounds, assist with traffic control, and respond quickly to any incidents that arise. We want families to have a great time without having to worry about safety.”
Deputies will maintain a strong presence throughout the duration of the fair to deter crime, support emergency services, assist food vendors, and provide a visible law enforcement presence.
“We’re proud of this county and this tradition,” Booker added. “Let’s work together to make this year’s fair one of the best—and safest—yet.”
And while you’re enjoying the fair, be sure to stop by the Sheriff’s Office tent and say hello. Tell us your
favorite fair food–just don’t be surprised if it sparks a debate. (Sheriff Booker’s vote is for a good old–fashioned pork tenderloin sandwich.)
