The Rock Falls Police Department issued a press release announcing traffic safety campaigns from December 12th, through January 5th to prevent impaired driving and promote seatbelt use during the holiday season. The campaigns are supported by IDOT and NHTSA.
Campaigns: “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over,” “Drive High. Get a DUI,” and “Click It or Ticket” enforcement efforts.
Key Suggestions: Plan for a sober ride if consuming impairing substances, and always wear a seatbelt.
Additional Steps: Designate a sober driver, report impaired drivers, stop friends from driving impaired, obey speed limits, and avoid distractions.
This campaign is made possible through federal highway safety funds administered by IDOT and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and is part of Illinois “It’s not a Game” statewide media outreach program.
