At approximately 4:54 PM, Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office Telecommunications received a 911 call reporting a single–vehicle crash on Moline Road, west of Yorktown Road.
Deputies arriving on scene determined that a black 2018 Nissan Sentra, driven by 27–year–old Marley Yetterberg of Erie, was traveling westbound on Moline Road when, for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle left the roadway to the south. The car entered the south ditch and struck a tree. Yetterberg sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash.
The Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office and Coroner’s Office were assisted on scene by the Illinois State Police, Prophetstown Fire Department & EMS, and Slim & Hank’s. The investigation into the cause of the crash remains ongoing.
Sheriff John F. Booker expressed condolences on behalf of the Sheriff’s Office:
“Our hearts go out to the family and loved ones of Mr. Yetterberg. Any loss of life on our roads is a tragedy, and we are committed to completing a thorough investigation into this crash. We also thank the first responders and partner agencies who worked alongside us at the scene.‘
