    Peak afternoon heat indices around 105 degrees expected.
    WHERE
    Portions of north central, northwest, and west central Illinois, east central, northeast, and southeast Iowa, and northeast Missouri.
    WHEN
    Until 8 PM CDT Monday.
    IMPACTS
    Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.
    ADDITIONAL DETAILS
    Heat impacts will be worsened by several consecutive days of sweltering temperatures. Additionally, there will be little relief overnight with near record warm lows forecast in the mid to upper 70s.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.

Fiesta Day Parade This Saturday

First Avenue (IL Rt 40) in Rock Falls will be closed to all traffic Saturday, September 16th, beginning at approximately 12:45pm for the Fiesta Parade. The parade route will be from 10th Street in Rock Falls, north across the 1st Avenue bridge into Sterling. Officers will be posted along the route to provide traffic control and security. Do not move or drive around barricades.

Additionally, East 10th Street and East 11th Streets from Avenue A to Avenue D will be closed beginning approximately 10:00am for the parade line-up. Expect traffic delays in the area because of these road closures and the additional traffic anticipated to be caused by those attending the parade.

Use extra care while driving and use alternate routes when possible.
