A swift response from local fire services prevented a potential disaster at a Dixon residence on Sproul Street. The Dixon City Fire Department, alongside the Dixon Rural Fire Department and police, responded to a fire that ignited in a bathroom light and vent fan.
The incident, which occurred Tuesday, around 4:45 PM, was contained before it could spread to the attic. Thanks to the early evacuation of residents and no reported injuries, the situation was managed effectively, with all units clearing the scene by 5:40 PM. Advance EMS was also present to assist, ensuring a well-coordinated emergency response.
