Illinois State Police Troop 1 Troopers issued 1,371 citations, 1,259 written warnings, and made 32 criminal arrests during the month of August. Troopers issued 486 citations for speeding, 26 citations for distracted driving violations and 42 citations for occupant restraint violations.
Troopers investigated 77 traffic crashes, assisted 302 motorists, and conducted 549 commercial motor vehicle inspections, of which 54 were placed out of service for safety reasons. There were 26 arrests for driving under the influence.
Troop 1, which encompasses Boone, Carroll, Jo Daviess, Lee, Ogle, Stephenson, Whiteside and Winnebago counties, investigated one fatal crash in August.
