Interstate 88 Work Resumes Monday June 15th
Drivers heading outside of town on Interstate 88 should plan for extra travel time. A multi-million dollar resurfacing project has resumed in Whiteside County between Rock Falls at Exit 44 and the U.S. 30 spur at Exit 36. Traffic is currently reduced to one lane in each direction through the work zone, which could lead to backups during heavier travel periods.
Commuters are urged to slow down, stay alert for crews and equipment, and allow additional time to reach their destinations. The project is part of ongoing roadway improvements aimed at creating a smoother and safer drive along that stretch of I-88.
