The Bureau and Marshall-Putnam Farm Bureaus, along with the county EMAs will be hosting a Large Animal Rescue Class for Emergency Responders. The class will be held on Saturday, November 11th, starting at 8:00am and lasting until 12:00pm.
The informational session will be instructed by Dr. Deke Carls of Oakwood Vet Clinic. The event will be held at the Putnam Ema Building in Hennepin, IL. Light refreshments and a boxed lunch will be provided.
This class was designed by the Illinois Fire Service Institute to bring awareness level information to Illinois emergency first responders in the area of large animal rescue. Responders include but
are not limited to members for fire, police, EMS, sheriff departments, DNR, and Forest Preserve Officers. The large animals discussed will include but are not limited to horses, cows, pigs, sheep, llamas, and alpacas.
