Sterling American Legion Post 296 is inviting the public to a Memorial Day ceremony to salute those veterans who have died. The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, May 27, at the Grandon Civic Center, 304 Brinks Circle, Sterling. A guest speaker from the Illinois National Guard is scheduled to speak. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will move to Sterling High School’s Centennial Auditorium.
Morrison American Legion Post 328
The 2024 Memorial Day Ceremonies will be held in Morrison, on Monday, May 27th. The parade will start at 10:30 a.m., beginning at The American Legion Hall, 306 E. Main Street; travel west on Main Street to Genesee Street; then turn north on Genesee Street and proceed to Grove Hill Cemetery. Parade line up will begin at The American Legion Hall at 10:00. The Memorial Service will be at the Veterans Memorial and Pavilion starting at approximately 11:00, with time allowed for everyone to travel from the parade route.
