On Tuesday, September 24th at 8:10am, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call along the railroad tracks, about a mile west of the Wadsworth Way and Railway Road, in rural Lee County.
Deputies located a male along the railroad tracks, and it was determined that he had been struck by a passing train. The male was pronounced deceased at the scene. No other information is being released currently, pending notification to the family.
This incident is still under investigation and there are currently no further details.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Dixon Rural Fire Department, Dixon City Fire Department, Lee County Coroner’s Office, and the Union Pacific Railroad.
