Memorial Day Ceremonies in The Area
Veterans and local residents in Rock Falls marked Memorial Day with a series of heartfelt tributes throughout the city. Events began with a joint rifle volley and included the somber playing of Taps by both Rock Falls and Sterling American Legion posts at the Lower Dam. Attendees honored fallen service members by releasing ceremonial biodegradable wreaths into the Rock River.
The day’s commemorations concluded at Veterans Park with the unveiling of a striking new American flag mural, followed by the community joining the nationwide “Taps Across America” tribute, reflecting unity and gratitude for military sacrifice.
