Mobile Property Fire Reported at 25590 W Rock Falls Road This Morning

The City of Sterling announced today a call to 911 at 3:46am required the Sterling Fire Department, Rock Falls Fire Department, CGH EMS and Whiteside County Sheriff be dispatched for a possible structure fire.

The first arriving units reported a fully engulfed Recreational Vehicle with fire getting into the front of the building. A MABAS Box 20 to the box alarm level was requested, bring in in outside assistance including: Dixon Rural Fire Department, Milledgeville Fire Protection District, Morrison Fire Department, Polo Fire Department, Prophetstown Fire Department and Tampico Fire Department to the scene.

Chadwick Fire Department and Amboy Fire Department were requested for station coverage at Sterling and Rock Falls station respectively. Initial crews on
scene began fire suppression operations at 3:53 am, reporting fire stop at 4:55 am.

State Fire Marshal was requested to the scene at 4:07 am and arrived on scene at approximately 6:30 am and began their investigation. Sterling Fire Department terminated command at 7:47 am.

The scene was turned over to the Whiteside County Sheriffs and Office of the State Fire Marshal for further investigation. For further comments or questions, please contact the Sterling Fire Department at 815-632-6680
