Illinois State Police responded to more than 500 vehicle crashes Monday due to the freezing rain and ice that coated roads. Across the state, ISP responded to 257 motorist assists, 222 property damage crashes and 39 personal injury crashes. Warmer temperatures will set in the next few days allowing roads and sidewalks to thaw.
