At approximately 5:20 PM, Monday, August 5th, Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office Telecommunications received a 911 call reporting a traffic crash on Sand Road, near the intersection of Benson Road, rural Fenton.
Responding Deputies with the assistance of the Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit determined a motorcycle, traveling northbound on Sand Road left the roadway, and continued northbound in the east ditch of Sand Road before coming to rest on its side. The operator of the motorcycle, 48-year-old Deacon Brown, of Hillsdale, succumbed to injures sustained from the crash and was pronounced deceased on scene.
Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office and Whiteside County Coroner’s Office were assisted on scene by Erie Police Department, Albany Fire & EMS, and Hunter’s Towing.
