In Morrison, community members are gearing up for the second Annual Turkey Trot set for Saturday, November 30th. This fun run and walk, hosted at Morrison High School, aims to support the local Morrison Food Pantry, NFP. Participants are encouraged to bring their friends and family along for a 9:00 a.m. start. Whether you run or walk, your involvement will contribute directly to a vital community cause. Registration is open with a participation fee of $20, which includes a custom shirt. For more details or to register, visit the Morrison Parks & Recreation website or call 815-441-2733.

Participants are encouraged to bring items such as paper towels, toilet paper, and personal hygiene products, which are critical to the pantry’s operation. The pantry, which depends entirely on community donations, is facing shortages in its Personal Care Section.

Those unable to attend can arrange drop-offs by contacting the pantry directly. Community support is crucial, especially as we approach the holiday season, which significantly boosts the pantry’s inventory through year-end donations. This event not only fosters community spirit but also directly supports local families in need.
