Sterling Illinois- As they approach their 75th anniversary, Regional Media’s WSDR 1240 AM, 93.1 FM, 102.7 WZZT, 105.5 WSSQ, and RegionalMediaNews.com announce a significant milestone, unveiling state-of-the-art studio facilities just a block and a half from WSDR’s original location.

Kris Noble from the Sauk Valley Area Chamber of Commerce shared her excitement: “I think it’s really exciting. WSDR as a local community radio station – it’s nice to have them in the heart of downtown. We know vibrant communities are successful when there is an active flowing downtown.”

WSDR’s return to the downtown community reflects its enduring commitment to the listeners, businesses, and organizations of Sauk Valley.

Kris Noble elaborated, “Having WSDR back downtown, being part of what we’re doing in the downtown community, and also just keeping track of all you guys do on a large scale, particularly your commitment to the ag community and not-for-profits, I think it’s a good thing.”

In a gesture emphasizing community connection, Noble added, “And I have to just really walk a block, so that’s really nice. It’s a win-win all around.”

This move not only honors the past but also heralds a bright future. “Coming up 75 years next year, 2024. How do you celebrate businesses that have been around that long in rural America, while continuing to advocate for this community? Kudos to WSDR for your leadership and, even more, for your commitment to Sauk Valley,” Noble asserted.

She further highlighted the CEO and Founder of Regional Media, Fletcher Ford, and the team’s dedication, observing, “When the transition happened years ago, there was some uncertainty. But they’ve proven their commitment to Sauk Valley time and time again. Their work is top-notch, serving the community’s expectation of radio as a timely and relevant information source.”

All stations warmly invite the Sauk Valley community to join in the ribbon-cutting ceremony on November 1. The event promises live broadcasts, behind-the-scenes studio tours, and interactions with the region’s beloved radio personalities.
