A disturbing prank led to a swift response from law enforcement at Reagan Middle School and Madison Elementary. Early Thursday morning, a threatening phone call promising a school shootout was traced to a student at Madison Elementary. Following the call in which a young male that stated, “Get ready for a school shootout today, bye.” which occurred shortly after 7:30 am, school officials and a resource officer rapidly pinpointed the caller.
The investigation quickly expanded to include two additional students, though no weapons were found. The implicated students claimed it was merely a joke. Local police are treating the matter with utmost seriousness and urge anyone with information to come forward. This case remains actively under investigation by Dixon authorities.
