    Very cold wind chills as low as 20 to 30 below.

    Portions of north central and northwest Illinois and east central and southeast Iowa.

    Until noon CST today.
    IMPACTS
    The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 30 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.

From Tuesday’s primary election, Both President Biden, and former President Trump will be on the ballot in November.

In other races, retired judge Joe McGraw has  the Republican nomination to represent Illinois’ 17th Congressional District. The northwestern Illinois district stretches from Rockford in the north to Peoria and Bloomington in central Illinois.

McGraw, a Rockford resident  took the lead over his opponent, Milan farmer Scott Crowl. Scott Alan Crowl (REP) 1077 34.23% Joe McGraw (REP) 2069 65.77%. Current Illinois 17th Congressional District Representative Eric Sorenensen ran unopposed.

In a three way race for Illinois’ 37th senate race, former Dixon Mayor Li Arellano came away with a win. Li Arellano, Jr.  1772 52.64%. Tim Yager 1155 34.31% Chris Bishop 439 13.04%. A Democrat candidate has not yet declared to get placed on the November ballot.

The majority of the rest of the primary ballot ran no contest, or no candidate. There were numerous votes county wide for committee person choices, council members and court elected officials.
