Rock Falls House Fire Under Investigation

On Sunday, April 6th, at 9:37 PM, The Rock Falls Fire Department, Sterling Fire Department, and CGHEMS responded to a reported structure fire with a possible explosion at 222 Ave D in Rock Falls.

The first crew arrived at 9:43 to find fire coming out of several windows of a one-story, single-family house. The three occupants were home at the time of the fire and were able to get out of the house prior to the fire department’s arrival. Two of them were transported by ambulance to CGH Medical Center. The third refused treatment at the scene.

A MABAS box alarm was called, bringing in additions fire and EMS crews from Dixon, Amboy, Prophetstown, Morrison, Milledgeville, and Polo. The fire was quickly controlled. Crews remained on scene for several hours while the fire was investigated by the Office of the State Fire Marshal. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
