    Peak afternoon heat indices around 105 degrees expected.

    Portions of north central, northwest, and west central Illinois, east central, northeast, and southeast Iowa, and northeast Missouri.

    IMPACTS
    Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.
    ADDITIONAL DETAILS
    Heat impacts will be worsened by several consecutive days of sweltering temperatures. Additionally, there will be little relief overnight with near record warm lows forecast in the mid to upper 70s.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.

Rock Falls Man Arrested on 2 Felony Counts

On July 19th, 2023, Rock Falls Police received a complaint of Unauthorized Recording and Live Video Transmission. As a result of the investigation, Rock Falls Detectives identified Ian M. McDonald as the suspect. McDonald is a registered sex offender.

On Thursday, August 3rd, at approximately 6:00 a.m., Rock Falls Police arrested McDonald without incident at his place of employment. Shortly after, Detectives executed a search warrant at McDonald’s residence with assistance of the Illinois State Police Zone 2 Investigations and Whiteside County Sheriff’s Department Investigations.

Ian M. McDonald is charged with two counts of Unauthorized Video Recording and Live Video Transmission, one being a Class 2 felony the other a Class 3 felony. McDonald was transported to the Whiteside County jail to await a bond hearing.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be filed. All individuals arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
