Early this morning, Monday, October 28th, at approximately 2:16am, the Rock Falls Police Department responded to a report of a person shot at a residence in the 900 block of West 5th Street. When officers arrived, they located one male with a gunshot wound inside a residence.
The initial investigation shows the injured male was shot outside the residence and that the shooter fled on foot. The injured person was taken to CGH Medical Center for treatment of a non-life-threatening injury.
This is believed to have been an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to the public. The incident is still under investigation. Rock Falls Police were assisted at the scene by Sterling Police and Illinois State Police Crime Scene Services.
